Open Access Strategy Brandenburg

A multi-stakeholder workshop commissioned by the University of Potsdam for the development of an Open Access Strategy for the federal state of Brandenburg.
Digitization is changing the distribution of power in the research, university and library landscape. Until recently most research in Germany had to be published via established publishing houses, who mostly charged researchers a decent fee for their service, reach and prestige. Similar to the digital transformation in the music or video industry the internet is breaking the monopoly of established publishers. Thus multiple stakeholders on a federal and federal state-level in Germany are joining forces to establish cooperations and a shared infrastructure providing easier access to research and archived data.
This two days workshop was part of a longer process and  included around 25 important stakeholders from politics, universities, libraries and research institutions of the federal state of Brandenburg.
