Wikimedia Germany –
Workshops for the Fellowship Program Open Science
Wikimedia Germany, with support of the Stifterverband and the Volkswagen Foundation, is actively fostering the Open Science movement in Germany. In order to strengthen the community and to establish case studies Wikimedia runs the Open Science Fellowship Program. Each year 20 selected applicants receive a grant for several months in order to implement OS strategies into their research activities. From the start of the program my job has been to advice Wikimedia on the concept of the kick-off and the closing workshops and consequently to guide participants through these 2,5 days filled with interactive sessions.
From project pitches, to networking, expert-input, bar camp sessions, individual roadmaps and group-work I helped Wikimedia to develop a concept that gets participants up to speed in no time.
In short: Participants get to dive into the topic of Open Sience, meet their Mentors and develop their individual project road map during the kick-off workshop. During the closing workshop by the end of the program they come together once more to recap their achievements and to jointly create a lasting impact on the OS community.
